Volunteer Opportunities
Direct Patient Care
Our Patient Care Volunteers provide support services directly to patients and their families. Volunteers perform tasks such as reading, writing letters, performing household duties, relieving the caregiver to allow them a moment out of the home, or even just providing an outlet for the patient to talk. Volunteers are matched and assigned to one family, whom they may visit once or twice per week.
Grief Support
The Caring House, the childhood bereavement program offered by Hospice Family Care, provides a safe place for children and their families to cope with the death of a loved one. Children can express their feelings and learn that their feelings are normal - which is a big step on the road to acceptance.
Volunteers can work with The Caring House program and provide emotional support to grieving children and family members by participating in the support groups as grief facilitators or helping to maintain contact with the families by telephone or mail.
Office Support & More
Office support, community awareness, working at special events or fundraisers, or serving on our Board of Directors are just a few examples of other essential volunteer opportunities.
